The overall layout
Your Finoya dashboard has three main areas: the top bar, the left navigation, and the main content area. Understanding what each area does saves you time every time you log in.
The top bar
Sync status
On the left side of the top bar you will see two dates: Sync On [date] and Next Sync: [date]. These tell you when your financial data was last updated from your accounting software, and when the next automatic update will happen.
This is important context for everything else you see on the dashboard. If your last sync was five days ago and you entered a large payment in your accounting software yesterday, that payment is not yet reflected in Finoya. The next sync will pull it in.
Account and settings
On the right side of the top bar you will see your name and account options. This is where you access your profile, billing and subscription settings, and the option to log out.
Dark mode toggle
Next to your account name is an icon to switch between light and dark mode. Finoya supports both and your preference is saved between sessions.
The left navigation
Business Health
This section contains your most important forward-looking tools.
• Cash Flow Health: Your dashboard home screen. Shows your cash flow health score for today, plus your key cash flow metrics.
• Forecast: AI forecasted where you can see the cash flow over the next 30, 60, and 90 days.
• Scenario Planning: Run multiple named scenarios side by side to compare the impact of different decisions before you commit to one.
AI Financial Assistant
This section is where you interact directly with Noya.
• Ask Noya: Open a chat interface where you can type any financial question and receive an immediate, data-backed answer. Your conversation history is saved in the Conversations panel on the right side of the screen.
• Recommendations: A regularly updated list of prioritised financial actions based on what Noya has identified in your data.
Transactions and Expenses
This section shows your actual transaction data.
• Invoices (Money In): All outstanding invoices owed to your business for the current month, with overdue breakdowns and a client-level table.
• Bills (Money Out): All outstanding bills your business owes to suppliers, with overdue breakdowns and a supplier-level table.
Financial Performance
This section shows how your business is performing.
• Sales Trends: Revenue broken down by calendar year to date, current quarter, last month, and current month. Also includes a table showing revenue by product or service type.
• Key Ratios: A set of financial efficiency and liquidity metrics including burn rate, working capital, net profit margin, quick ratio, accounts receivable and payable, and inventory metrics.
Reports and Filing
This section is for reporting outputs.
• Tax Summary: A summary of tax-related data from your accounting software. Note that Finoya does not provide tax advice and this screen is informational only.
• Custom Reports: Build and export reports tailored to your specific needs.
The main content area
The large central area of the screen shows the content of whichever section you have selected in the left navigation. Each screen has its own layout suited to the type of data it shows.
Most screens include a combination of summary metrics at the top and a more detailed table or breakdown below. The summary metrics show the headline numbers and percentage changes versus the prior period. The tables below give you the transaction-level or item-level detail.
Using Ask Noya effectively
When you open Ask Noya, you will see a chat input at the bottom of the screen. Type your question and press Enter or click the send button.
Below the input bar you will also see a set of suggested questions. These change based on what Finoya knows about your data. They are a useful starting point if you are not sure what to ask first.
On the right side of the Ask Noya screen is a Conversations panel. Every conversation you have with Noya is saved here and you can click on any past conversation to review it. You do not need to re-ask the same question if you want to refer back to a previous answer.
Tip Noya works best when your questions are specific. Instead of asking What is my financial situation? try How much cash do I have available today? or Which customers owe me more than $5,000 right now? Specific questions get specific, actionable answers. |
Switching between clients (Accountants only)
If you are an accountant using Finoya, you will see a section at the bottom of the left navigation labelled For Accountants. This contains two items:
• Ask Noya Premium: The advanced version of Noya that queries raw transaction data rather than calculated summaries. Use this for deep analysis and advisory work.
• Back to Main Dashboard: Click this to return to your multi-client overview from any individual client's dashboard. This is the fastest way to switch between clients.
To switch from one client to another, click Back to Main Dashboard first, then click on the next client's name in the overview table.
Sorting the client table (Accountants only)
On the multi-client dashboard, you can sort the client list by any column by clicking the column header. An arrow appears next to the column name showing the direction of sort. Click the same header again to reverse the sort order. This is useful for quickly identifying which clients have the lowest cash flow health score or the highest overdue invoice amounts.
